Book Launch! Teaching Body Mapping to Children

We would like to invite you to the launch of Jennifer Johnson’s book Teaching Body Mapping to Children: Overcoming and Preventing Injury in the Music Studio and Classroom.
We are glad to say the book was well-received in the Suzuki world at large- Ed Kreitman, one of the world’s leading Suzuki pedagogues and Trainers had this to say about it:
“Jennifer Johnson has drawn on her vast experience as an Andover Educator, musician and teacher to bring us an invaluable resource. Her explanations of “Body mapping” and what it means to “mis-map” bring new insights to anyone who is teaching a musical instrument to children.  This comprehensive book covers every area of the body. Each chapter is filled with useful “pre-cursor red flags” for typical mis-use patterns and provides wonderful explanations and activities to help children bring new awareness to their body. Through awareness, old habitual patterns are released allowing for the freedom and balance necessary for a lifetime of pain free playing.  This book should be required reading for everyone in the music teaching profession.”
