Tulip Bulb Fundraiser Returns!

This year, STEP will again be selling tulip bulbs as a fundraiser for the city's REAL Program, which supports participation in arts and sports activities for families in difficult financial circumstances. STEP has been working with REAL for some time, and any help you can provide would be more than appreciated!

There are a limited number of bulbs available, so order them soon! The form is available to download on the STEP website at http://suzukinl.ca/tulipform.pdf

Remember: November date changes

Remember, the group classes originally scheduled for November 19th and the solo concert/rehearsal originally scheduled for the 12th and 13th have been switched! We will be having 2 weeks in a row of group class (November 5th and 12th), then a solo concert on the 20th (with rehearsal on the 19th).

Remember to put a an extra hour or so in your schedules after the Solo Concert, since that will also be STEP's Annual General Meeting.

Annual General Meeting and Call for Board Members

As you well know, STEP is a non-profit organization that depends on, and answers to, its members. That means you! Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday, November 20th. The meeting will be right after our solo concert - the location of which we're in the process of confirming.

Attendance at the AGM is very important! You'll have a chance to ask questions and hear updates from the board and staff on the state of the organization and our plans for the future. Most importantly, you can vote to elect our next Board of Directors - and we encourage you to run yourself!

STEP depends on volunteer work, both from our parents at large and our board. By running for the board, you can have a say on the direction of the program and be a voice for the STEP Community. The board meets once a month. This year will be a busy one as we revamp our governance - come and be a part of it!

If you're interested in running for the board, or know someone who is, feel free to let us know and ask any questions. We will have nomination forms and documentation ready soon!
