Enrichment Classes
Enrichment Group Classes supplement the Suzuki curriculum, and provide an excellent opportunity to explore new genres and styles of playing together. In the 2024-2025 season, STEP is offering: Fiddle A, B, C, and Reading Orchestra. All Enrichment Classes take place on Saturday mornings at Memorial University’s School of Music, across 18 weeks.

The fiddle has been part of Newfoundland’s own folk music for centuries. Continue the tradition by learning fiddle playing techniques and many of the tunes which have been passed through aural tradition from generation to generation. Fiddle classes are open to Suzuki students in Violin Book 2 and up. Class placement is decided by the Artistic Director. Non-Suzuki students taking lessons with STEP faculty members (but who do not follow the core group curriculum) are also welcome to join our enrichment classes!
